I grew up in Oregon surrounded by forests, where my early curiosity about the natural world and the people who live within it first began. After graduating high school, I joined the United States Marine Corps Reserves and served seven years as an armorer, an experience that shaped my discipline, resilience, and attention to detail. My educational path has been non-linear, beginning at Southern Utah University before the COVID-19 shutdown, continuing through the University of Arizona, and now at Pima Community College, while I balanced work in security and fabrication as a powder coater. In 2022, I became a mother, which has further strengthened my motivation to pursue meaningful work that preserves human history and culture. Outside of school, much of my life is devoted to the Society for Creative Anachronism, where I research historical arts and performance, compete in tournaments, serve in leadership roles, and have received several awards for my work. My academic focus is Anthropology with a minor in Religious Studies, and I hope to eventually earn a master’s degree in art conservation. My interests are also shaped by a personal spiritual practice as a hearth witch, which deepens my appreciation for ritual, material culture, and the ways people express meaning through objects and traditions.
